Research

My aspiration is to combine artificial muscle structures with dynamic simulators to build intelligent robots that collaborate naturally with humans. I am currently exploring modeling and control questions for soft robotic systems driven by artificial muscles, and I am passionate about bringing soft robotics into diverse practical scenarios.

I started research in my sophomore year at the DISCOVER Lab, advised by Prof. Guyue Zhou, where I helped build an interactive desktop robotics system — the work behind my first publication. I joined the THU Soft Robotics Lab in October 2023, advised by Prof. Huichan Zhao, working on the design and robust real-time control of pneumatic artificial muscles. In the summer of 2024, I visited the Bio-inspired Robotics and Design Lab at SUTD, working with Prof. Pablo Valdivia y Alvarado on direct ink writing of architected soft origami structures.

Beyond Research

Besides robotics, I am deeply devoted to music and sports — they are the sources of my energy.

🎵 Music

I serve as the Principal Clarinet player in the Tsinghua University Symphony Orchestra (TUSO). Music allows me to express emotions that equations and code cannot capture. More performances live on TUSO’s Bilibili space.

⚽ Football

I played for the Xingjian College soccer team during my undergraduate years, and now continue with the Soccer Team of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. I love the adrenaline of competitive sports and the bond built with teammates on the pitch.
